Annual Meeting
March 18, 2010

  1. The meeting was called to order by President, David Tattersall at 7:15 PM in the Bayview Meeting Room at St. Luke’s Church.  There were 45 neighbors in attendance.
  1. The minutes of the 2/12/09 meeting were approved as typed.
  1. Election of Board Members:
    1. David explained the distribution and rotation of Board Members.  The terms of Richard Hopper, Bill Gates and Bruce McPhail will expire this year.  Richard Hopper and Bill Gates have agreed to run again.  Bruce McPhail has decided to retire from the Board.
    2. Joe Tyszkiewicz who lives on Manzanita has graciously accepted the nomination for the board seat from the Main/Manzanita area of Bayside Acres.
    3. There were no write-in nominations.  David asked for any nominations from the floor.  There were none.
    4. David called for a vote by show of hands.  David moved and Stuart Brown seconded Richard Hopper, Bill Gates and Joe Tyszkiewicz were all elected to a term on the board.
  1. Treasurer’s Report:
    1. Our Treasurer, Mary Sinclair reported that as of 3/1/10 we had 48 paid members and had a balance in our account of $1,203.14.
  1. Old Business:
    1. Marina Development.  David stated that there is nothing to report on at this time.  There is a rumor that the LLC who owns the Marina are going to file for bankruptcy; however, permits go with the land if it is sold, and can extend to July, 2012.
    2. Disaster Preparedness:  Bill Gates our Committee Chairman, urged us all to have at least a week’s supply of food, water, medications and first aid supplies.  He encouraged everyone to take the CERT training course.  He reported that the SPR Coalition has purchased 1 disaster supply kit.  They are trying to decide the best place to store it.  Bill also stated that the SPR Coalition was recently given a grant from County Supervisor Susan Adams for disaster preparedness community supplies.  The Coalition is currently investigating how best to use these funds, including providing financial support to home owner associations to purchase supplies.
    3. Pt. San Pedro Road Coalition:  Bonnie Marmor Co-President of the Coalition reported that they have a Disaster Preparedness Committee to help the PSR Corridor.  They are working hard for the protection of our community.  The Medians Committee is meeting monthly and has several subcommittees.  The Wetlands Committee, Chaired by Rodney Ruskin, is looking for members.
    4. Quarry Issues:  Bonnie Marmor reported that the Board of Supervisors is going to vote on the operating permit for the Quarry.  There will be meetings in the near future.  She thanked our Association for the contribution we made this year to the Coalition.
    5. Website:  Alan Schaevitz, our Webmaster, informed the attendees about all the updates and changes that he has made, and is going to make, to our website.  Alan requested that if anyone knows some history about Bayside Acres they would like to share to please send him the information.  He wants to add as much history as possible.  He also asked that if anyone has any suggestions for our webpage to send their ideas through the website to him.

David gave a big THANK YOU to Andy Bachich, neighbor and OWNER of ANDY’S Market for generously providing goodies for the meeting tonight.  Everyone agreed that the food was delicious!  The Board provided wine and sparkling water for everyone to enjoy.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM.
